Narrative
ANNIE JOHNSON
Annie Bess Johnson, 89, of Hillsboro died Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at a local hospital. She was born January 2, 1914 in Frost, daughter of Jesse Oliver and Virgie Mayfield Johnson. She moved to Irene in 1930. She later lived in Hillsboro and then Corsicana for 13 years where she worked as a cook for the children's home. She later returned to Hillsboro. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she worked in the nursery for a number of years. Survivors include: several nieces and nephews, including Maurice Craig and Margaret Taylor, both of Hillsboro. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Reed Justus officiating. Burial followed at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 673, Hillsboro 76645.
