My Grandmother was Susan, and they called her Susie. She was married to a Newton F. Stites. He was a tough old bird I know that. They were divorced, but why they were never came up. He got married again.
She had long hair. She wasn't very tall. She wasn't five foot, but her hair went all the way down to the floor. And she worked on that hair, usually on weekends. And she was also enthusiastially involved in horse racing (sulkies) and training. She used to race on two-wheeled carriages. That was before I came along. She was quite an unusual lady, but boy did she love the Lord! I came to know the Lord because of her.
