Narrative
Rachel joined the service in 1960-61 and was stationed in Texas. While in the service, she met a young man by the name of Edward "Edwin" George Bellis from the wealthy Bellis family, well known in the San Antonio, Texas area. They were married and had 2 children. After several years, they divorced. After the divorce, Rachel continued to live in San Antonio raising her two children. Rachel eventually starting going by the name of Rochelle instead of Rachel which was common in San Antonio at the time. One day, I called her and asked for Rachel. The person on the line said, “Oh, do you mean “Rochelle”? That was the first I knew she had changed her name from Rachel to Rochelle. I have always thought that Rochelle was a beautiful name. - Arlene Duncan
