THE FOLLOWING IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN GIVEN REGARDING BENJAMIN'S PARENTAGE. HOWEVER I HAVE SOME TROUBLE WITH IT...AS DATES DON'T ADD UP:

FATHER: Hans B 12 March 1698 d. 1766 New York?
Mother: Catherine Van Tilburg (or Vantilborough)
Mar: 23 April 1719, New Amsterdam, N. Y.
1 child known "William" b 1729
Grandfather: William b 1657? Winchester Co. N.Y. d. 1710?
Grandmother: Rachel Kierstead
married 19 No 1686 (1st wife) Dutch Church, New Amsterdam
Maria Van Tricht (2nd wife) 19 Jan 1706

Now looking at the above dates, it is obvious that Hans could not have been Benjamin's father...if this lineage is true...I would say he was more likely to have been his grandfather, and his grandfather, William, was a great-grand.
Which makes it possible that "William" b. 1729 could be Benjamin's father, but that's pretty dubious. Much more research is needed...There are so many entries about the above in the computer...with conflicting dates and the lineage goes way back.
