History of Ashley Duncan
Ashley was born in 1809 in Kentucky.
In 1810 he was living in Bolin Green, Kentucky.
In 1832 he married Elizabeth Bowler, two years his senior, in
Missouri. They had eight children and she died in 1865. Four years
later in 1869, he married Mary Melinda Litchford.
In 1850 He lived with wife Elizabeth and six children in Missouri.
They owned a farm valued at $700.00.
By 1860 he lived in Missouri. His farm was valued at $15,000.00 he
was living with wife Elizabeth and six children although oldest son
Prior, age 27, had moved out along with Jesse then 22. They had taken
in her sister in law Refufia and two children.
In 1870 he was living next door to son Prior living with then wife
Mary and her two children.
In 1880 at age 71, he lived in Missouri with his youngest son John
and family. He was widowed for the second time.
